Top 10 books or poems

Using the following template, make a note of your top 10 books or poems. There’s room for you to write why they’re in your top 10 – for example, do they remind you of a particular time? Do they make you feel a certain way? Share this with someone you know, have they read the same books?

Here is a poem. Read it to yourself silently or aloud: 

Now write out the poem backwards
(making the last line first and the first line last.)

Writing a poem

Find an anthology of modern poems (Staying Alive or A Useful Choice edited by Neil Astley and published by Bloodaxe Books would be useful choice) and find a poem that expresses something that you feel.

Now shut the book and write your own feelings in poetic form.
